well furry mammals are nice ....... tookie likes to jump up onto
my stomach and snuggle there when I'm lying on fatumnette's couch
watching TV .....
when I'm away for too long patches would hug my leg with her
front paws and refuse to let go till I hug her back .....
you don't get that with non-mammals ... 
my previous dog will sleep with me with I'm cold and down on
fever...
he'll accompany me play games or watch tv... he'll help me chase
away insects if they are bothing me... he'll also accompany me go
hunt for cockroaches when there's an infestation during a period of
time...
he saved my home for fire twice (because I have a tendacy to
fall aslp while boiling water and he'll wake me up when the water
is boiling) and flood once (water pipe burst and he woke me up in
the middle of the night)...
He's usually fierce looking but will transform into an adorable
cute "puppy" when he sees schoolgirls -____-
